Two starts after throwing the most 100 mph pitches by a starting pitcher in a game and one outing after setting the record for most pitches at 101 mph and above, the Milwaukee Brewers right-hander electrified in the first inning against the Philadelphia Phillies on June 12.
Thirteen pitches. Ten at 102 mph or faster. One at 104.5 mph, the fastest ever tracked by a starting pitcher. Three strikeouts.
Misiorowski began his evening by missing on a pair of 103.4 mph heaters to Kyle Schwarber , MLB's home run leader. He found the zone at 104 mph, his speediest bullet yet this year, and followed with 103.5 mph fouled back and a 104.5 mph dotted low and away that resulted in a foul tip for strike three.
The final pitch to Schwarber was Misiorowski's fastest of his career, surpassing a 104.3 mph dart to Kyle Tucker in last year's National League Divisional Series.
He took care of Phillies shortstop Trea Turner , who had plenty to say about Misiorowski's all-star selection a year ago , in four pitches, finishing him off with 103.5 mph fastball above the strike zone.
Misiorowski amped up two more heaters above 104 mph, clocking 104.2 and 104.1 mph, in a three-pitch undoing of Bryce Harper to end the inning.
