Acer has unveiled its new flagship handheld gaming device, the Predator Atlas 7, at this yearโs IFA conference in Berlin. The smaller sibling of the Predator Atlas 8, the Atlas 7 packs the same high-end performance into a more compact and ergonomic design. Acer designed it to be easier to hold, with contoured grips, an enlarged palm rest, recessed keys, and an anti-slip texture to improve comfort during long gaming sessions.
The Atlas 7 shares much of its hardware with the larger Atlas 8, including an Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor with support for Intel Arc B390 graphics. It features a 7-inch 16:9 full-HD touchscreen with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 500 nits of brightness, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. The device comes with up to 1TB of storage, 24GB of memory, and an 80Wh battery that keeps the weight under 750 grams. A lighter 60Wh version weighs under 700 grams. Cooling is handled by a dual-fan system to prevent overheating under load.
Connectivity options include dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, a microSD card reader, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4. Acer includes two months of Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass with the device, after which users will need to subscribe to continue streaming games. The company has not yet announced pricing, but the Atlas 7 is expected to launch in North America in the fourth quarter of 2026 and in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa starting in November.
Acer also showcased a concept device at IFA called Project DualPlay Mini, an 8-inch handheld that doubles as a laptop-like productivity station. The Atlas 7โs compact yet powerful design could appeal to gamers looking for a high-performance handheld without the bulk of larger models, positioning Acer to compete in the growing handheld gaming market.
