(RTTNews) - Air Canada (AC.TO), the Canadian airline and cargo company, Tuesday reported a loss for the second quarter compared to the same period last year. However, operating revenues increased.
The company also provided its goals for 2028 and its aspirations for 2030.
Air Canada recorded a loss of C$178 million or C$0.63 per share compared with earnings of C$186 million or C$0.51 per share of last year.
Excluding one-time items, earnings decreased to C$114 million or C$0.40 per share from C$207 million or C$0.60 per share previous year.
Nonetheless, operating revenues increased to C$6.27 billion from C$5.6 billion of prior year.
Revenue passenger miles grew 3.4 percent to 23.6 billion from 22.8 billion of same quarter last year.
Available seat miles nudged 0.3 percent to 26.94 billion from 26.86 billion of previous year.
Passenger load factor grew to 87.5 percent from 84.9 percent of prior year.
