Andrew Williams, the longtime rhythm guitarist for metalcore band Every Time I Die, who went by “The Butcher” in his earlier wrestling career, has died, All Elite Wrestling confirmed. The 48‑year‑old passed away on Monday, September 2, 2026, in his hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina, after a brief illness.

Williams joined Every Time I Die in 2009, replacing original guitarist Jeff Broh. He played on six studio albums, including the 2010 release *Gutter Queen*, the 2012 *The Big Dirty*, and the 2018 *The Dead One*. His heavy, driving riffs became a hallmark of the band’s sound. Before music, he wrestled in the independent circuit under the name “The Butcher,” earning a reputation for his hard‑hitting style and larger‑than‑life persona. He retired from wrestling in 2007 to focus on songwriting and touring.
