Anthony Gordon reveals what Marcus Rashford has told him about Barcelona after €80m transfer

Anthony Gordon has revealed what Marcus Rashford has told him about Barcelona after linking up with his fellow forward on international duty with England.

Rashford has spent the season on loan at Barcelona and is hoping to stay , while Gordon has signed from Newcastle in a deal worth around 80 million euros.

The two have been pictured chatting together while on international duty, and Gordon was asked what they have been talking about after England’s 1-0 win over New Zealand on Saturday.

“He was just telling me how good the lads are there, the team spirit that they have, which I heard already from the people in Barca,” he told talkSPORT.

“So I’m really looking forward to joining up with them. He was also telling me about the city, places to live. He’s a lovely guy, very caring. So he was just giving me a bit of information.”

Gordon will wear the No. 18 for England at World Cup 2026 and Rashford the No. 11, but the new Barcelona star isn’t reading anything into that.

“I couldn’t care less. I think if you go through this team, you could put any player 1-11. We’re all good enough. We’ve all got a case to feel like we’re the best in many ways,” he added.

“So I couldn’t care less about the number. I’m here to win for England. I don’t care about me individually, or me personally. It’s not about me. It’s about the team. So give me whatever number you want to give me. I couldn’t care less.”
