Beck has shared another new single, ‘Disappearing Act’ – you can listen to it below.
The song is the latest preview of the singer-songwriter’s 15th studio album, ‘Ride Lonesome’ , which is released on September 18 via Capitol.
In the ethereal acoustic track, Beck brings the listener into a tranquil world as he bathes in the evening sun. The musician produced the cut, with longtime Radiohead collaborator Nigel Godrich on mixing duties.
“ Skies are looming over you/ Night is hiding love from you/ And I heard a voice/ From another room/ Thought maybe it was you/ Ride right into the storm/ Like a beast waiting to be born ,” Beck sings.
“ There’s a road out of here, leads to nowhere/ High as the sun/ Like a fool/ Falling back to earth/ Ride the darkness somewhere new/ Try to unlearn the things you knew/ There’s a road out of here, leads to nowhere .”
‘Disappearing Act’ is the third preview of the forthcoming ‘Ride Lonesome’, following the title track and single ‘In The Night’ . The full LP was helmed by Beck, and mixed by Godrich.
‘Ride Lonesome’ is the long-awaited follow-up to 2019’s ‘Hyperspace’ , and comes on the heels of this year’s collection of rarities, deep cuts and covers, ‘Everybody’s Gotta Learn Sometime’ .
The record sees Beck make a nod to his folksy, stripped-back acoustic album ‘Morning Phase’ (2014) and his seminal 2002 LP ‘Sea Change’ – with him reuniting with the original touring and recording band he worked with on those records.
