Despite an 8-6 win over the Pittsburgh PIrates , the Boys in Blue had a pair of stars leave early with injury.
Shohei Ohtani left with left knee inflammation, while Justin Wrobleski left with a hamstring contusion after he was hit by a comebacker, then got tangled up with the runner at first base.
For a Dodgers team already dealing with multiple injuries, the timing is terrible, and the worry and despair was palpable among Dodgers fans.
Along with plenty of well wishes and comments we cannot print, many of you offered your own body parts to help get the Boys in Blue back on the field.
“Take my MCL, PCL, ACL, Kneecap, Meniscus and all my glucosamine, Shohei!!!” wrote @arevwon.
Others encouraged the players to take some time off to get healthy, especially with so many months left until the playoffs.
With two pitchers getting injured, though, fans speculated that the Dodgers could be even more motivated to call up young talent like River Ryan or get big-name players like Tarik Skubal via trade .
“And down goes yet another Dodger pitcher. We have a full staff on the IR. Call up River Ryan and trade for Skubal,” wrote @jrichard444.
