Directed by Steven Spielberg , the sci-fi film follows a cybersecurity expert as he tries to expose a cover-up of extraterrestrial secrets. At the same time, a weathergirl in Kansas City starts having abilities she’s never possessed before.
The film’s supporting cast includes Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, Colman Domingo, Wyatt Russell, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Elizabeth Marvel and Hettienne Park.
Disclosure Day is Spielberg’s first film since 2022’s The Fabelmans , which picked up seven Oscar nominations. His other recent work includes West Side Story and Ready Player One .
The film’s score is by John Williams , who is renowned for his collaborations with Steven Spielberg on the likes of Jaws , Close Encounters Of The Third Kind , E.T. , Raiders Of The Lost Ark , Jurassic Park , Saving Private Ryan and Schindler’s List .
Beyond the score, Disclosure Day features one needle drop in the form of Gwen Stefani’s 2006 track ‘The Sweet Escape’. Emily Blunt’s character, Margaret Fairchild, sings the song in the car as she drives to work, which results in her getting stopped by the police.
