The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra debuted Privacy Display technology earlier this year. This hardware feature physically restricts viewing angles so people canโt peek at your screen. We previously heard that the rumored Galaxy S27 Pro could also get this feature, and a new leak has now corroborated this claim.
ET News reports that the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra will both get Privacy Display functionality, citing industry sources. The outlet specifically claims that both phones will have OLED screens with Flex Magic Pixel technology. This is the hardware innovation that enables Privacy Display.
โSamsung Electronics plans to include privacy displays in its higher-end lineup to differentiate them from the standard and Plus models,โ an industry source was quoted as saying by the news outlet. โDiscussions are underway to apply this technology to OLEDs in other devices, such as laptops, starting with smartphones.โ
This news comes a few months after we first heard that the Galaxy S27 Pro could get a Privacy Display. We also saw a conflicting claim that all four Galaxy S27 series phones could get this tech, but this is evidently contradicted by the ET News source quoted above . Otherwise, the Pro model is tipped to get a 6.47-inch display, a 5,200mAh battery, a 200MP main camera, and a 12MP 3x camera.
Weโre excited to see Privacy Display on more Samsung phones, though. The feature allows you to limit viewing angles for the entire screen, specific areas of the screen, or specific apps. That means shoulder surfers canโt see whatโs on your phone display. However, some users have reported eye strain and reduced brightness when using the S26 Ultra. We therefore hope Samsung addresses these potential issues on the Galaxy S27 Pro and S27 Ultra.
