The Senate will enter a fiveโ€‘week August recess, giving Republicans a narrow window to push President Trumpโ€™s agenda before the postโ€‘election lameโ€‘duck session. Trump has intensified pressure on Senate Majority Leader John Thune (Rโ€‘S.D.) to move a package of bills that could reshape the economy, immigration, and federal spending.
