High On Life 2 soundtrack released on four LPs

The full 66-track soundtrack to the video game High On Life 2 is getting its first vinyl release on four LPs.

The music was composed by Tobacco, the alias of Bryan Leach, frontman of the psychedelic rock band Black Moth Super Rainbow. A single-disc vinyl pressing of select tracks sold out quickly when the game launched in February. The full soundtrack became available to stream in April. Now fans can order a 4LP set with Volume 1 on red and yellow swirl vinyl and Volume 2 on transparent blue with purple swirl vinyl. The U.S. edition is priced at $66 and is available for pre-order now.

High On Life 2 is a comedic first-person shooter set in a galaxy where human life is commodified by a pharmaceutical cartel. The story follows a team of alien misfits on a bounty-hunting adventure that turns personal when a shadowy figure from the past puts a price on the player’s sister’s head. The soundtrack blends electronic beats and psychedelic textures to match the game’s offbeat tone and vibrant visuals. The vinyl set arrives as interest in game soundtracks continues to rise. Last month, Reddit users debated which games have the “perfect soundtrack,” with titles like Hades, Doom and Stardew Valley frequently mentioned. A CD version of the High On Life 2 soundtrack is expected soon, though international release details have not been announced. Vinyl collectors and game fans now have a new way to own the full score, joining a growing trend of soundtracks receiving expanded physical editions.
