Class 2A's final, set for 7 p.m. at Illinois Field, will see St. Joseph-Ogden – looking to reap the benefits of home-field advantage being from Champaign County – battle Elgin Harvest-Westminster , playing in their first-ever state baseball tournament.
Up in Joliet, the Class 3A final pits Troy Triad , last year's third-place finishers, against Chicago St. Rita , seeking a first state title after three runner-up finishes.
Class 4A's championship game was moved up by the Illinois High School Association due to the potential for inclement weather in the area, with a 4 p.m. start time scheduled. Defending state champion Libertyville will take on Park Ridge Maine South , playing in their first state tournament since 1966.
Lightning has forced a delay in the 1A title game between Tremont and Putnam County, with the game set to resume at 2:30 p.m. at Illinois Field.
Tremont is playing in their second state tournament, having finished fourth in 2011. Putnam County is playing in their seventh state tournament, with their last appearance being a runner-up finish in 2013 in Class 1A.
