Katie Maloney is returning to reality TV on Hulu’s “House of Stassi,” ending years of disinterest after the original “Vanderpump Rules” wrapped.
The show, which premieres Tuesday, follows Stassi Schroeder as she moves into a new home with a group of friends, including Maloney. The two were once close cast members on “Vanderpump Rules,” but their friendship ended after Schroeder’s 2022 book accused Maloney of spreading rumors about her. Maloney later called the book “horrible” and said she had no interest in doing reality TV again.
Maloney’s season-two cameo in the new series came after months of negotiations. In the finale, she revealed she almost didn’t sign on because she feared the emotional fallout. Ariana Madix, Schroeder’s former “Vanderpump” co-star, filmed a surprise cameo for the season, marking another step in the slow healing between the women. Sources say Maloney agreed only after producers guaranteed she wouldn’t be edited into drama she wanted to avoid.
The reunion matters because “Vanderpump Rules” remains a cultural touchstone. After the show ended in 2020, cast members moved on—some to other projects, others to therapy. Maloney, who starred from season one, had largely stayed out of the spotlight. Her return signals a possible softening in the years-long feud that once divided the franchise’s fanbase. The new season will test whether the cast can revisit old wounds without reigniting them.
