Charley Hull surrendered the lead with a double-bogey on the 17th as Anna Huang stormed to a two-shot victory at the PIF London Championship at Centurion Club.

The 28-year-old Hull had held a three-shot cushion heading into the final round but bogeyed the 15th and 16th before the damaging double-bogey at the par-5 17th. Huang, 22, capitalised with a final-round 65 to finish on 16-under, beating Hull by two strokes. It’s Huang’s first Ladies European Tour title and a breakthrough after years of near-misses including a runner-up finish at the same event last year.

Hull, chasing her first LET win since 2022, had looked set to end a 27-tournament drought before the wheels came off late. Her collapse mirrored similar instances where top-ranked players have faltered down the stretch in major events. Huang, ranked 43rd, played with controlled aggression, carding birdies at 5, 6 and 8 to build momentum. “I just kept telling myself to stay patient and trust my game,” she said. “The putts started to drop when it mattered.”

The win is huge for Huang’s confidence and bank balance, landing her £162,000 in prize money and moving her into the top 20 in the world rankings. It also marks a shift in momentum on the LET, where Hull remains the dominant force without a title. The defeat will sting for Hull, but it keeps pressure on her to convert leads into trophies at the next major stop. The tour heads to Spain next week for the Andalucia Costa del Sol Open. Huang will be the one to watch after proving she can handle the heat.
