Light Science Technologies lifts capacity 50% with new SMT line and global client win

Light Science Technologies Holdings PLC (AIM:LST, FRA:9FD) CEO Simon Deacon tells Proactive's Stephen Gunnion that a new surface mount technology (SMT) production line is set to increase capacity in its contract electronics manufacturing division by around 50% after the company secured a new partnership. That takes potential revenues from a previous peak of about £9 million to roughly £14–15 million.

Deacon said the upgrade also improves efficiency, accuracy and overall product quality through faster and more precise component placement.

Looking ahead, he highlighted opportunities across healthcare, medical technology and defence, where demand for UK-based manufacturing continues to rise. He also flagged ongoing momentum in AgTech, including automation and controlled environment agriculture, as key longer-term growth drivers.
