Apple releases macOS 27 Golden Gate beta 5

Apple has released the fifth developer beta of macOS 27 Golden Gate, giving software creators another peek at the next major update due later this year.

This beta arrives as Apple races to finalize features before the public rollout, likely in September or October. The company’s annual cycle has already delivered four earlier developer builds, each refining performance, security, and compatibility with the new design language Apple first previewed in June. Insiders say Golden Gate will bring deeper iPhone-style controls, revamped system sounds, and tighter integration with iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 scheduled for the same period.

The fifth beta focuses on stability and polish, squashing bugs reported in prior builds.
