Comedian Bill Maher torched Sen. Rand Paul on Friday for publishing Anthony Fauci’s private diaries and threatening to hold the former White House chief medical adviser in contempt of Congress, calling the Kentucky Republican’s conduct a betrayal of small-government principles.

Maher, host of HBO’s “Real Time,” mocked Paul for what he called a hypocritical obsession with Fauci’s pandemic response after years of opposing government overreach. “Your entire brand is Senator Right to Privacy,” Maher quipped on air. “You’re out here publishing someone’s diary like a creepy stalker and threatening to throw them in jail.
