MasterCraft Boat Holdings has announced that select models of its pontoon boats will now feature Appleโs CarPlay and Android Auto, providing boaters with an integrated navigation and entertainment system. This new technology will be available starting next month in the companyโs Crest and Balise sub-brands.
The move comes as more consumers seek modern solutions for recreational boating. Traditionally, navigation and entertainment systems have lagged behind those found in cars. With the addition of CarPlay and Android Auto, MasterCraft aims to meet the demand for advanced infotainment options that allow boaters to easily access navigation charts, music, and communication apps while on the water.
The integration includes Savvy Navvy's new apps designed specifically for marine use, which provide smart routing, live traffic updates, and nearby marina locations. Users can view navigation charts in both 2D and 3D formats. As Savvy Navvy CEO Jelte Liebrand noted, โBoaters have been asking for a modern infotainment system for years.โ The new interface allows users to plan trips from home and have their routes ready at the helm when they board.
For those who do not purchase a new boat, Savvy Navvy's app is compatible with various marine displays, including aftermarket units. This flexibility means that the advanced navigation features are not limited to new boat buyers. The integration into MasterCraft's models positions them as pioneers in the industry for combining modern technology with boating experiences.
