Micware is expanding beyond automotive software by developing micAuto for software-defined vehicles and DynaPlanet for spatial intelligence and location-based services. The company expects micAuto to begin generating revenue in fiscal 2027 and plans to launch Micware Spacia in September.
Fiscal 2026 results showed a record 36.8% gross margin , with gross profit rising to JPY 51.6 million and adjusted operating profit reaching JPY 15.6 million. However, revenue remains highly concentrated, with Honda accounting for 50.6% and Toyota for 16.3%.
Micware aims to become a global technology company through its Nasdaq listing and international expansion, but approximately 98.5% of revenue still comes from Japan . Its North American subsidiary is seeking relationships with U.S. automakers and partners.
Micware (NASDAQ:MWC) outlined plans to expand from its established automotive software business into next-generation software-defined vehicles and spatial intelligence platforms during a Sidoti Conference presentation.
Founder and CEO Kenji Narushima said the Japan-based company's strategy is built around two primary platforms: micAuto, its automotive software platform, and DynaPlanet, an intelligent 3D platform intended to support location-based services and recurring revenue opportunities.
Micware develops in-vehicle infotainment, navigation software and mobility solutions for automotive customers including Toyota, Honda, Daihatsu and Denso. Narushima said Toyota and Honda are both major customers and strategic shareholders.
Takashi Harishima, president of Micware North America, said the company has grown to approximately 600 employees and holds more than 300 patents. Micware operates six entities and 13 branch offices in Japan, with subsidiaries in the United States, Thailand and Germany.
