Speaking to reporters ahead of the matchup, Johnson expressed confidence in his team's preparation.

"The biggest thing is we've put in some good hard work at times and have not taken advantage of that hard work, and that's been partially, some undisciplined things on us, and partially also, [the Knicks] stepped up and made some plays,” Johnson said .

The first two games of the series have proved the difference between a seasoned Knicks squad and a talented but youthful Spurs roster.
