Alani Bankhead continues Senate campaign, boosts GOP's Kurt Alme in Montana

Democratic Senate candidate Alani Bankhead announced on Monday that she will not drop out of the race to succeed retiring Sen. Steve Daines in Montana. Her decision complicates the already challenging prospects for Independent candidate Seth Bodnar against GOP nominee Kurt Alme. Bankhead, an Air Force officer, proclaimed during a press conference, “I’ll never bow down,” signaling her determination to continue her campaign despite the odds.

This announcement comes as the political landscape in Montana is shifting. With Daines not seeking reelection, the seat has become a target for both parties. The GOP has a strong hold on the state, and Bankhead’s presence in the race could fragment the Democratic vote, ultimately benefiting Alme.
