The New York Knicks won a historic championship after defeating the San Antonio Spurs in Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Saturday night.
The Knicks secured their first title in 53 years with a 94-90 win, kicking off wild celebrations throughout the five boroughs.
Star guard Jalen Brunson delivered the win with a 45-point outburst in Texas as “Let's go Knicks” chants cascaded from the stands in San Antonio .
Brunson fought back tears after the game as he tried to explain what the win meant to the city.
“I have no words,” he told ABC. “I don’t know what I’m feeling. I’m in awe, I don’t know.
“Whenever someone counted us out, we found a way to come back and do something about it."
Game 5 came on the heels of the Knicks staging the biggest ever comeback in NBA Finals history with their win in Game 4, and Donald Trump’s visit to MSG for their loss in Game 3.
The Knicks became the eighth different champion in the NBA over the last eight years.
