The New England Patriots traded for A.J. Brown on June 1, and he is already drawing high praise from his new teammates.
The Patriots started mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, and Brown continued to showcase what he can do in a Patriots uniform. As more time passes, he will start to become more familiar with the offense and will start growing his role in practices. Then, by the time the season starts, he will be a key part of the offense.
Hunter Henry has gotten a glimpse of what Brown can do with Drake Maye as his quarterback, and he is already impressed.
"He’s really going to help this team tremendously,” Henry said to reporters, per MassLive's Mark Daniels.
Henry was second on the team in targets, receptions and yards last season. He trailed only Stefon Diggs in all three categories. Henry will still have a big role in the offense, but the additions of Brown and Romeo Doubs will eat into some of his targets. However, he is not worried about that.
"It's always good to add good football players," Henry told reporters when asked about adding Doubs and Brown, per Patriots Wire's Sophie Weller.
The Patriots' offense this year figures to be even better than last year's offense that led them to the Super Bowl. Brown is a three-time Pro Bowler who had over 5,000 yards in four seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles . He and Drake Maye could be an elite duo next year, and it starts at practice.
