Rocket Lab reports second-quarter results after the market closes on Monday, Aug. 10, and investors are already betting the company will hit Wall Streetโ€™s revenue target of $232 millionโ€”a 60% jump from a year ago.

The space company, valued at about $50 billion, has seen its shares rise 9% in a single day as analysts and traders anticipate another record quarter. Management guided in May for revenue between $225 million and $240 million, with the midpoint representing a 61% increase from the $144 million reported in the same period last year. Rocket Lab has now posted five consecutive quarters of record revenue, climbing steadily from $155 million to $200 million since early 2025. The backlog of contracted but unfulfilled launches hit a record $2.2 billion at the end of the first quarter, signaling strong demand.

Investors are also watching margins and losses. Rocket Lab guided for GAAP gross margins of 33% to 35% and an adjusted EBITDA loss of $20 million to $26 million for the quarter. While the company remains unprofitableโ€”reporting a $183 million loss over the past 12 monthsโ€”its liquidity stands at over $2 billion, giving it room to keep investing in growth. Two major contracts announced in late July and early August, totaling $663 million from the U.S. Space Force, were not included in the revenue guidance and could provide upside surprises.

What matters next is whether Rocket Lab can turn revenue growth into a clearer path to profitability. The company is betting big on its Neutron rocket and expanding launch services, but the $50 billion valuation assumes it will narrow losses quickly. If the second-quarter results meet or beat expectations, the stock could see another surgeโ€”but if margins disappoint, the high valuation may face pressure. All eyes are on Monday nightโ€™s numbers to see if Rocket Lab can keep the momentum going.
