Samsung's QS90H soundbar offers powerful sound with 13 drivers and Dolby Atmos

Samsung has introduced its new QS90H soundbar, priced at $1,000, claiming it can deliver powerful bass without the need for a separate subwoofer. This launch comes as a response to a growing demand for all-in-one audio solutions, particularly as competitors like Sonos have made strides with their Arc Ultra model. The QS90H aims to redefine expectations in the soundbar market by incorporating innovative technology to enhance low-end performance.

The QS90H is visually similar to its predecessor, the QS700F, but it is wider by 3.5 inches, allowing for five additional drivers—13 in total compared to the eight in the earlier model. This design change is crucial as it enables the QS90H to produce fuller sound without requiring an external subwoofer. The layout of onboard controls remains almost identical between the two models. The QS90H features a microphone mute button, two volume controls, and a Multi button for input cycling, maintaining user familiarity while offering upgraded functionality.

In terms of features, the QS90H includes many of the advanced options found in other Samsung soundbars, such as wireless Dolby Atmos, Q-Symphony audio expansion, and SpaceFit Sound Pro room calibration. Notably, the SpaceFit Sound Pro feature can now be utilized with any TV, allowing the soundbar to automatically adjust to the room's acoustics. However, some features, like wireless Dolby Atmos, are limited to use with compatible Samsung TVs, which may restrict their accessibility for some users.
