Houston Dynamo extended their unbeaten run to six games with a 2-0 win over New England Revolution on Saturday night at Shell Energy Stadium. Guilherme Santos and Agustin Resch scored the goals, while Jonathan Bond made it three straight clean sheets in goal to secure the victory. Santos struck in first-minute stoppage time to give Houston a 1-0 halftime lead, capping a frantic final seconds of the first half.

This result keeps Houston in strong playoff contention as they sit tied on points with Sporting Kansas City for the final Eastern Conference wildcard spot. New England, meanwhile, remain winless in their last six matches and slipped further behind the playoff pack. Santos’ goal was his 11th of the season in just 18 appearances, continuing his impressive debut campaign in MLS after joining from Brazil’s Botafogo.

Bond’s commanding performance in goal marked his third consecutive shutout, a run that has tightened Houston’s defense during their unbeaten stretch. Resch added the second goal in the 55th minute, slotting home after a quick counterattack to double the lead. The Dynamo controlled most of the game, outshooting New England 17-9 and limiting dangerous chances in midfield.

Houston (10-6-2) now sit just two points behind Columbus Crew in the Supporters’ Shield race and can close that gap further if results go their way next weekend. This win also lifts them above New England in the standings, though the Revolution still have games in hand. With momentum on their side and a defense firing on all cylinders, Dynamo are quietly building a case as a dangerous playoff threat. Their next match, at home against Vancouver Whitecaps on July 6, could be another chance to tighten their grip on a postseason spot.
