Seth Lugo and Brandon Nimmo are friends from their days with the New York Mets .
Now, Lugo pitches for the Kansas City Royals , and Nimmo plays for the Texas Rangers .
On Wednesday night, Nimmo laced a 106.6 MPH line drive directly off Lugo's forehead.
Nimmo nearly tried to check on Lugo before even going to first base, but he got toward the mound as soon as he could.

Lugo seemed to be doing OK almost immediately as he joked with Nimmo that he should've hit a home run instead:
After the game, the Royals said that Lugo would undergo standard concussion protocol and testing.
