Sid Wilson acknowledges his exit from Slipknot

It comes after the metal band recently announced his departure

Sid Wilson has acknowledged his exit from Slipknot after nearly 30 years together.

It comes after the metal band officially confirmed his departure on Friday (August 14) following weeks of speculation about his status in the group. The statement remains posted on the official Instagram account for Knotfest, the festival created by the band in 2012 .

“Effective immediately, Slipknot will no longer be associated with Sid Wilson,” the post read. “We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

Wilson was known as No. 0 and served as their keyboardist and turntablist, joining them in 1998, just before the Iowa-founded group had their mainstream breakthrough with their self-titled debut.

Since news of his departure broke, Wilson acknowledged it by updating his Instagram biography , which now reads: “Slipknot 1997-2026”.

But Wilson is yet to issue a full-length statement regarding his exit from Slipknot and the reasons for his departure still remain a mystery.

It comes after a TMZ report in late July claimed that Wilson’s exit would mark the latest line-up change. At the time, there had been no word on what led to the alleged split, but the band’s guitarist, Jim Root, took to social media after news broke to urge fans to wait for more information .
