Istanbul to host 2027 Spanish Super Cup featuring Barcelona, Real Madrid

The 2027 Spanish Super Cup will take place in Turkiye, specifically at Istanbul’s Ataturk Olympic Stadium, as announced by the Spanish Football Federation on Thursday. This move comes after Saudi Arabia, which has hosted the Super Cup since 2020, was ruled out due to scheduling conflicts with the Asian Cup. The Asian Cup is the premier international football tournament for Asian nations, and its dates overlap with the Super Cup. As a result, the Spanish Football Federation sought a new venue for the tournament, leading to the selection of Turkiye.
