Spiritbox Release New Single ‘Mourning’, Announce UK Tour

Spiritbox has dropped a new single, “Mourning,” on Tuesday. The track is the band’s first release since their second studio album, *Tsunami Sea*, hit the shelves in 2024. It appears on the band’s streaming channels and is available for download across major platforms.

The song is a shift from the heavy, high‑energy style the group is known for. It is more subdued and melodic, yet still features fiery guitar riffs that build throughout the track. The release follows a recent collaboration with frontwoman Courtney LaPlante, *Bring Me the Horizon* vocalist Oli Sykes, and producer Grabbitz, who created a new anthem for the video game Valorant. That anthem, “If the Sun Burns Out Tonight,” is slated for release later this year and will play during the Valorant Champions Shanghai 2026 Finals, which bring the world’s top 16 teams together from September 24 to October 18.

NME gave *Tsunami Sea* a four‑star review, calling the album “awe‑inspiring modern metal” and praising the band for pushing the boundaries of metalcore. The magazine described the album as “solid‑as‑granite proof that heavy music remains vital and relevant in 2025.” Spiritbox also performed the track “Soft Spine” at the 2026 Grammys, where they were nominated for Best Metal Performance for the third time.

The band will kick off its biggest UK headline tour yet on September 12 at Glasgow’s SEC, moving through Nottingham, Manchester and Cardiff before wrapping up at London’s OVO Arena Wembley on September 19. After the tour, Spiritbox will support Metallica at Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun Arena on November 21, joining the veterans for a two‑night “No Repeat Weekend.”
