Standard Chartered forecasts Chainlink at $200 by 2030
Standard Chartered predicts tokenization could unlock $4 trillion in real-world assets by 2030, driving Chainlink's price to $200. This matters because tokenization could transform traditional financโฆ
Standard Charteredโs fintech arm has set a 2030 price target of $200 for Chainlink, the decentralized oracle network, on the back of a forecast that tokenization could unlock $4 trillion in real-world assets by the end of the decade.
The forecastโreleased by Standard Charteredโs venture arm, Zodia Markets, and crypto research firm 21.coโassumes a 37-fold expansion in decentralized finance (DeFi) value locked, from roughly $100 billion today to $3.7 trillion. It also targets a 27x jump for Uniswap, a 12x rise for Aave, and a 10x lift for Morpho, all aligned with the same macro trend. Tokenizationโturning stocks, bonds, real estate, and commodities into blockchain-based tokensโis the driving force, according to the report. Standard Chartered argues that institutional adoption of tokenized assets will accelerate once regulatory clarity improves and scalable cross-chain infrastructure matures.
The projections land as major banks and asset managers begin pilot programs for tokenized products. BlackRock launched a tokenized fund on Ethereum in March, while JPMorgan has piloted tokenized deposits in Singapore. Chainlinkโs role as the connective tissue between blockchains and real-world data feeds is central to this thesis. Its price has climbed 50% this year on rising DeFi activity and corporate interest in oracles. Critics warn that such price targets depend on sustained regulatory progress and the avoidance of major smart-contract failures.
If the forecast proves accurate, the ripple effects would extend beyond crypto markets. Traditional finance could see lower settlement times, reduced costs, and 24/7 trading. But the path is not guaranteed. Regulators in the EU and U.S. are still drafting rules on tokenized assets, and technological hurdlesโsuch as interoperability between blockchainsโremain. For now, the report signals growing confidence that tokenization is not a niche experiment but a structural shift in global finance.
