The Cure and Radiohead contribute to Stage Tour soundtrack release

The Cure, Radiohead, and Bad Omens are among the artists confirmed for the soundtrack of Stage Tour, a new music rhythm game set to launch later this year. This announcement adds to the excitement surrounding the game, which is a spiritual successor to the popular Guitar Hero series.

The original Guitar Hero franchise was paused after the release of Guitar Hero Live in 2015. However, last year, the developers at RedOctane, who originally created the game, announced they were working on a fresh take in the genre. They emphasized that this new title would not be merely a continuation of the old series but rather a completely new experience for players. The team stated in their blog, “This game won’t be Guitar Hero, DJ Hero, Guitar Freaks or Rock Band. This is something new.”

The game will feature a diverse soundtrack that spans multiple genres. RedOctane highlighted that the setlist will blend iconic rock anthems with modern hits from various styles, including rock, metal, alt-rock, and pop-punk. The full soundtrack will include 22 songs, and the initial lineup already showcases classics like "Just Like Heaven" by The Cure and "Just" by Radiohead. This approach aims to engage music fans across generations and create a vibrant gaming community.

Stage Tour will offer compatibility with various controllers, including PC keyboards, and will support guitar, bass, drum, and vocal inputs. Additionally, it will launch alongside specialized hardware designed for the game. As anticipation builds for its release, Stage Tour promises to deliver a unique music experience that fans of rhythm games have been eagerly awaiting.
