Narwal cuts Freo 20 Edge price to $800

Narwal has unveiled the Freo 20 Edge, a more affordable robot vacuum and mop that retains many premium features at a lower price point. The new model, announced at IFA 2026, costs $799.99—$300 less than its predecessor, the Freo 20, which launched just last month.

The Freo 20 Edge doesn’t skimp on core cleaning performance. It offers 31,000Pa of suction, the same FlowWash-style track-mopping technology with 16 nozzles for continuous water circulation, and a wiper that removes dirt in real time. It also applies 12N of downward pressure and extends its mop by up to 4.8cm to clean along walls and into corners. The robot includes a zero-tangle roller brush and a detangling side brush for hair, plus a self-cleaning dock that washes, dries, and stores the mop.

To cut costs, Narwal removed some advanced features. The Edge uses hidden dToF LiDAR and structured-light obstacle avoidance instead of the Freo 20’s dual RGB cameras, recognizing over 150 object types rather than 300-plus. It also skips the hot-water mopping system, opting for room-temperature cleaning, though it still dries the mop with 45°C air. The dock holds a 2.5L dust bag for up to 120 days of hands-free dust storage.

The company also introduced the V50 Cube, a lightweight cordless vacuum that weighs just 1.4kg and can lie flat to reach under furniture. Its dock empties the vacuum into a 3L dust bag, cleans the brush, and stores accessories, while its AI DirtSense system adjusts suction based on detected dirt. Both devices aim to make high-end cleaning technology more accessible without sacrificing essential performance.
