Vanessa Bryant’s message for Jalen Brunson goes viral

Jalen Brunson has received congratulatory messages on social media from fans, analysts, celebrities and former and current NBA players. Vanessa Bryant also gave the New York Knicks superstar a shout out on her Instagram story.

Brunson silenced his critics by leading his team to a championship. The Villanova product also won Finals MVP honors and helped end the Knicks’ 53-year title drought. He has established himself as one of the franchise’s legends, and his performances throughout the series will never be forgotten.

Bryant posted a picture of Brunson and kept her message short. It showed the three-time All-Star celebrating a made basket on the court while wearing a pair of his Kobe 6 Protro PEs. He grew up as a Kobe fan and looks up to him for his achievements. Fans shared their reactions in the comments section.

Brunson exclusively wore various models from Bryant’s signature shoe line in the five Finals games. He started Game 1 with the Nike Kobe 3 in pale green and purple silhouette before switching at halftime. The 29-year-old laced up the purple Kobe 6 Protros until Game 5.

One of the colorways Brunson rocked was a custom Knicks-themed PE for Game 3 at Madison Square Garden. It was a fitting choice as the venue hosted its first Finals game since 1999.
