Key Points A new product introduction helped lift the top line. It seems there's more where that came from, with new product introductions scheduled over the coming months. 10 stocks we like better than MiniMed Group โ€บ Highly specialized medical device maker MiniMed Group (NASDAQ: MMED) was highly prized by investors over the past few trading days. That stood to reason, as the company unveiled first-quarter fiscal 2027 results that comfortably exceeded revenue expectations. As of late Thursday evening, the company's shares were up by nearly 19% week to date, according to data compiled by S&P Global Market Intelligence . Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue ยป Pumped for growth MiniMed, which focuses on diabetes care, booked net sales of $843 million, up a sturdy 17% year over year. Much of this came from outside our borders, as international net sales rose by 18% to hit $603 million. That figure for the medical device company's native U.S. market was $240 million, 13% higher than the same quarter of fiscal 2026. Image source: Getty Images. On the bottom line, MiniMed hit breakeven, an improvement over the $19 million net loss it posted in the year-ago frame. That top-line result handily beat the average analyst estimate of just under $827 million. A consensus net income number was not immediately available. One highlight of the quarter was the launch of MiniMed Flex, an insulin pump. It was introduced to the U.S. market as a system in combination with the company's Simplera glucose monitoring device. MiniMed said of the new product that it "is doing exactly what we designed it to do: bringing new patients into the MiniMed ecosystem, driving competitive conversions, and generating significant new account growth." Guidance bump MiniMed boosted its full-year revenue guidance, albeit modestly. It's now modeling 10.5% growth over the fiscal 2026 figure; previously, it had anticipated roughly a 10% rise. Management also reaffirmed its previous guidance of 16% growth for adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA). The U.S. launch of MiniMed Flex is only the start of a series of worldwide product rollouts, so its maker clearly has notable momentum. And while it's a niche company, diabetes has a significant global patient population that could use its wares. I'd say these factors make its stock worth considering as a buy.
