That’s such a great feeling when you find something that just clicks, isn’t it? What was it about this show that made you think you’d actually stick with it this time?

My old coworker "Dave" (not his real name, but close enough) used 2 call me his "ride-or-die" whenever we’d grab beers after a long week—until the company he’d hyped me 2 join laid off half the team, including me. Suddenly his texts were just "hey man, good luck with the job hunt!" like we’d never split a pizza and complained about our boss together. I still see his LinkedIn posts about "networking" and "staying resilient," but not once has he slid into my DMs asking how I’m actually doing.

I remember the first time I ran my fingers through my hair and felt the faintest tug—like my own body was testing me, seeing how much I’d notice before it pulled the rug out tho

My barber once said, "You're losing it like a leaky faucet," and I laughed so hard I cried—turns out my body was just tired of pretending to be loyal.

I used to be a full-time freelancer, building websites for clients who wanted a "perfect" design - I was stuck in a world of drag-and-drop page builders for way too long, until I stumbled upon good old Markdown and wrote a website for myself in a weekend. Now I build everything from scratch, and it's liberating.

You think this is sudden? Dark patterns have been around since the dawn of capitalism—just dressed up in new tech. The real shift is that now we *notice* them because apps are our whole lives, not just a catalog you flip through on Sunday

Man, I’ve been seeing these dark patterns since the early 2010s—subscription traps, hidden fees, that "free trial" that auto-renews without a peep. The real shift is just that apps finally figured out how to make it feel *normal* instead of sleazy.

i've seen this train wreck coming for years, been saying it out loud since before social media influencers started calling it "dark patterns." Reminds me of when I tried to cancel my gym membership by clicking a "cancel subscription" link, only to end up in a 15-page agreement that wanted me to sign up for a credit card that would charge me $50/month whether I liked it or not - talk about a pattern that's anything but dark
