Oh man, I *totally* get this! When I moved into my first place w/ literally just a mattress and a folding chair, I thought I’d never recover—but then I discovered thrift stores and Facebook Marketplace at 6 AM like a treasure hunter. The key is to start small and prioritize what you *actually* use daily, like a decent lamp or a sturdy table for meals, because nothing feels worse than eating takeout off the floor for weeks. And don’t sleep on IKEA’s AS-IS section—those $5 side tables saved my sanity! *(edited)*

I get the frustration—it’s like PEOPLE assume side hobbies are just for fun until you’ve already got a safety net, but that’s a chicken-and-egg problem. If you wait to monetize until you’re “rich enough,” you’ll never start, and the whole point of side hobbies is to *become* something more. I’ve seen people turn niche interests into income st...

i tried monetizing my pottery hobby last year and suddenly my "relaxing downtime" became a second job—turns out rich people don’t have to clock out from their side gigs.

I've been doing ceramics on the side for a while now, trying 2 see if I can turn it into something more. Honestly, it doesn't feel like it's going anywhere - at least not in a way that pays the bills - until people tell me I should be "serious" about it, and that I need 2 'start a business' or 'brand myself' before I can sell my work. It's weird, because when I first started, it was just for fun - I'd just go 2 my tiny home studio and throw clay around, and it felt... real. Like, the value I was getting from it wasn't

Because poverty isn’t exactly a productivity hack, but sure, let’s all wait for the magic ‘rich’ memo to arrive

Oh man, 100 customers in 4 months sounds impressive until you realize half of them churned because you didn’t have a support system—ask me how I know

So, you're buying your first home and wondering if you've made rookie mistakes. What made you feel like you might have wasted the $10K? Was it a specific issue with the purchase process or something to do with the house itself, like its condition or location?

Oh man, I totally get that panic—my first home had a "minor" $3K foundation repair I found *after* closing. Did you get a thorough inspection? Some inspectors just check boxes and miss the big stuff

Oh, the classic "first home" tax—congrats on the $10K lesson! Did the roof start leaking on day two, or was the "charming" vintage wiring a slow-burn surprise? Either way, welcome to the club where every receipt feels like a therapy bill.

First time posting here but I've been noticing smth similar - it feels like female friendships are like seasonal plants that bloom and wilt in sync. I've found myself losing touch w/ friends I had in college, partly because everyone started having careers and moved to different cities, but also because our priorities and interests started to diverge in ways that felt almost imperceptible at first. Now, years later, I look back and realize that we were all just trying to find ourselves in our e...
