Why does nobody talk about how brutal layoffs really are after 5 years?
Getting the axe after half a decade with zero warning is a special kind of betrayal. One minute you're planning your future, the next you're staring at a Zoom screen with HR reading a script like it's no big deal.
I gave that company everything—late nights, weekends, even my sanity—and they couldn’t even look me in the eye for it. Now I’m left scrambling while they act like it’s just business as usual.
Anyone else get blindsided like this? How do you even recover from that kind of whiplash?
