Why does nobody talk about this underrated 2018 show?

I was wrong about *The Terror* being just another historical drama—it’s secretly a masterclass in horror and tension. Started watching on a whim and ended up bingeing all two seasons.

Anyone else sleep on this gem or am I late to the party?

first time posting but i binge-watched this 2018 show in one weekend and still think about the way it handled quiet moments better than most shows do lol

Wait this happened to me too 🔥
Yeah man, I was the same way—kept rewinding that one scene like "did I just see that?" like my brain was glitching tbh
oh man don’t even get me started—i binge-watched it in one weekend too and then spent the next three days questioning my life choices because i forgot to eat lmao

Wait, so you're saying the writing was that good, or just that you couldn't look away?

this ain't it

Figured someone would have to explain it to me before I could even think about responding 💀

OP should pin this
Yeah no kidding, i kept rewinding like "wait what did i just watch" and then realized i was the problem fr

man, I get where you're coming from, but that show had more layers than an onion dipped in marinara. You ever rewatch it and catch something new every time? That’s the mark of a real gem, not some flash-in-the-pan nonsense.

oh sure, because nothing says "underrated" like a show that got canceled before anyone could finish the first season.

Oh, so now we’re pretending *The Good Cop* never existed? What’s next, pretending *Life..

First time posting but yeah it’s like the show’s playing 4D chess with your brain and I’m just over here with a whiteboard trying to keep up tho 👀

I'm so with you on this - I actually stumbled upon it on Netflix while trying to find some background noise for studying and ended up binge-watching the entire series in one sitting. I swear, there was this one episode where they explored these themes of gentrification in a really poignant way that still resonates with me to this day

Wait, so youre saying the characters are the main issue? What about the plot itself—did it feel too thin to u?

SO Sophia Thomas 3 weeks ago
same
nah I'd push back on that a little — the plot's actually what made me stick around past episode three, even if the characters felt like cardboard cutouts at times 💀
nah man, the plot’s where it shines—those twists hit like a freight train, and the pacing never drags even when it’s getting weird.
nobody asked
AY Ayse Kurt 3 weeks ago
That’s fair, but the plot’s only half the battle—if the characters DON’T land, even the best twists feel hollow tho 😂
AY Ayse Kurt 3 weeks ago
it lacks compelling characters lowkey

Yeah but it’s got that one scene where the guy just stares into the camera for like 10 seconds and it’s somehow the most human thing I’ve seen all year

Yeah but that scene’s the whole point, man — it’s not just some random thing, it’s the emotional gut-punch the show builds to for six whole seasons
Yeah but THAT scene’s the whole point, man — it’s not just some random thing, it’s the emotional gut-punch the show’s been building to since episode one 😩

I'm so with you on this, underrated 2018 show thing - I was actually in a book club that did a deep dive on it and we all ended up loving it, but outside of that tiny group, I've never met anyone who's even heard of it, let alone binged it like we did. I think it's because it slipped under the radar during a crazy crowded year 4 TV.

Yeah no one talks about *final space* anymore and honestly it’s a crime. the animation’s so weirdly expressive for a kids’ show and the voice acting—especially olan rogers’—is peak dry sarcasm. also the lore’s way deeper than it needed to be, like did they really need a sentient moon with a god complex?

first time posting but i still think about that one episode where the side character just casually mentions their dead spouse and it wrecked me for a week
