Grayscaleโ€™s chief Bitcoin strategist Zach Pandl told investors on Tuesday that the cryptocurrency has found a floor near $58,000, giving clients a green light to add or reallocate funds into the asset.

The comment comes after a 2023 slump that saw bitcoin slide from a high of $68,000 in late March to a low of $56,000 in November. Grayscale, which runs the Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) and is pushing for a spot Bitcoin ETF, has long been a barometer for institutional sentiment. The firmโ€™s analysts use a mix of technical charts and onโ€‘chain data to gauge price support. Pandl said the recent dip is โ€œa shortโ€‘term correctionโ€ and that the price has found a solid bottom at the $58,000 level, a figure that sits above the 200โ€‘day moving average and near the 52โ€‘week low.

Why this matters is that Grayscaleโ€™s stance can move markets. The trustโ€™s shares trade at a premium to bitcoin, and its valuation is a key input for other crypto funds. When the firm signals confidence, it can lift sentiment and trigger inflows. The firmโ€™s push for a spot Bitcoin ETF has also been under regulatory scrutiny. The SECโ€™s recent decision to deny a similar application last month added uncertainty, but the industry has been hopeful that a new filing could clear the hurdle in the coming months. Pandlโ€™s reassurance comes just as the firm is preparing a new filing that would allow direct bitcoin exposure for investors.

For clients, the green light means they can now consider buying GBTC shares or other bitcoinโ€‘linked products without fearing a further deepening of the current trough. Grayscale also plans to roll out a new investment product that will allow direct allocation to the underlying asset, potentially lowering costs compared to the current trust structure. If the ETF approval process moves forward, the firm expects to see a surge in inflows that could push bitcoin back toward its 2024 highs. In the short term, traders will be watching the price action around the $58,000 support level and any regulatory updates from the SEC that could confirm or derail the ETF timeline.
