Qualcomm will hold its Snapdragon Summit next month, where itโs expected to unveil new high-end smartphone processors. Now, the company has officially teased the arrival of two Snapdragon 8 Elite series chips.
Qualcomm posted a video on social media teasing the debut of โDual 8 Elitesโ and โtwice the optionsโ on September 22. The company added that these chips have the latest connectivity tech, โextraordinaryโ GPU performance, and โimmersiveโ gaming experiences.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series leaks also give us a good idea of what to expect next month. The Pro chip is said to offer a 2nm TSMC design, an octa-core Oryon CPU (2+3+3), a powerful Adreno 850 GPU with 18MB of dedicated memory, and support for LPDDR6 RAM. Meanwhile, the standard chip apparently has a 3nm design, an octa-core Oryon CPU (2+3+3) presumably running at a lower clock speed, an Adreno 845 GPU with 12MB of dedicated memory, and support for LPDDR5X RAM.
Either way, we have roughly a month to wait before we officially see the new Snapdragon 8 Elite series chips. But between the RAM crisis and the rumored price hike for Pro silicon, we donโt blame you if you pick up an older flagship Android phone instead.
