Red Cat Holdings (RCAT) announced its Q2โฏ2026 earnings on Thursday, reporting a 25โฏ% jump in revenue to $12.4โฏmillion, up from $9.9โฏmillion a year earlier. The company also posted a net loss of $1.2โฏmillion, a narrowing from the $3.1โฏmillion loss reported in the same quarter last year. The earnings call, streamed live on Nasdaqโs platform, was attended by analysts and investors who asked questions about the companyโs user growth and product roadmap.
RCAT is a petโtech firm that offers a cloudโbased platform connecting pet owners with veterinary care, grooming services, and petโfriendly travel. Pet ownership in the U.S. has risen sharply over the past decade, and the industryโs digital segment is expected to grow at a 12โฏ% annual rate. The companyโs recent acquisition of a small dataโanalytics startup has helped it personalize health recommendations for pets, a move that analysts say could drive higher subscription fees. The Q2 results come after the company launched a new โPet Health Trackerโ feature in March, which has already been adopted by 30โฏ% of its user base.
Revenue growth was largely driven by a 40โฏ% increase in active monthly users, now at 1.8โฏmillion, and a rise in recurring subscription revenue from $3.2โฏmillion to $4.6โฏmillion. RCATโs CEO, Maria Lopez, said the company expects to hit $60โฏmillion in annual revenue by 2028, citing a planned expansion into Europe and Asia. Analysts gave the company a โBuyโ rating, with a target price of $15.00 per share, up from $11.50. Some investors expressed concern about the companyโs cash burn, noting that it had $45โฏmillion in cash and equivalents as of June 30, but Lopez said the firm plans to raise additional capital through a private placement if needed.
Looking ahead, RCAT will focus on rolling out its โPet Travel Conciergeโ service in Q3 and launching a partnership with a major pet food brand. The company also plans to explore a potential merger
