Sometimes being an Android Auto user can feel like playing a game of whack-a-mole. A bug appears, a fix is rolled out, and another bug appears shortly after. For example, a fix for a glitch that caused connections to drop or freeze was recently released . Now, a new bug has shown up, and itโs preventing users from streaming their music and podcasts.
According to several Android Auto users on Reddit ( 1 , 2 ), the latest issue affects the Spotify app. When attempting to access the app, these users are running into an error message that reads โSpotify isnโt responding.โ The screen includes options to exit the app or to wait for it to start working again.
One user claims the app started working again after they left the Android Auto beta. Another user says that tapping exit and reopening the app worked for them, though they admit they occasionally had to repeat the process multiple times. A third commenter claims they got Spotify to start working again by force-stopping the app and deleting the appโs cache on their phone.
Itโs unclear what the cause of the error is. Android Authority has reached out to Google and Spotify for comment on the situation. This article will be updated once new information becomes available.
