Voyager Technologies (VOYG) shares surged on August 10 after the company announced a significant contract with the U.S. Space Force (USSF). The Denver-based firm will develop flight-ready space-to-space communication solutions and conduct an on-orbit demonstration under the agreement with Space Systems Command. This news has helped boost investor confidence and contributed to an approximately 65% increase in Voyager's stock price since the beginning of the year.

The timing of this contract comes on the heels of Voyager's impressive second-quarter earnings report. The company reported a 51% year-over-year revenue increase, reaching $52.7 million, and a record backlog of nearly $336 million. This recent performance underscores the high demand for Voyager's offerings in defense and national security sectors. The new contract not only strengthens Voyager's relationship with the U.S. government but also positions the company favorably for future contracts with other national-security agencies.

Currently, Voyager's stock is trading above its major moving averages, with an RSI in the early 70s, indicating strong buying interest. Investors find Voyager's valuation appealing, as it trades at a price-to-sales (P/S) multiple of nearly 13x, making it a more affordable option compared to peers like Rocket Lab (RKLB). Notably, former hedge fund manager Jim Cramer has expressed a preference for Voyager over Rocket Lab, suggesting that investors consider building a position in the company.

Looking ahead, Voyager Technologies appears well-positioned for growth, with total liquidity of $585.5 million and an optimistic full-year sales guidance raised to at least $275 million. Wall Street analysts maintain a "Moderate Buy" consensus rating on VOYG stock, with price targets reaching as high as $60. This reflects significant potential upside from current levels, making Voyager an attractive option for investors interested in defense technology despite potential near-term volatility.
