i totally get where you're coming from—it's wild how much gets shared online without a second thought. I once used a photo I thought was free to use for a small blog post, only to get a cease-and-desist email. Moral of the story: when in doubt, assume it's not free

I get why this feels murky—fair use is one of those things that sounds straightforward until you actually try to apply it. The key isn’t just stealing vs. not stealing, but whether it’s transformative, how much you’re taking, and if it harms the original creator’s market. Like, quoting a paragraph for a review? Probably fine. Posting an entire song as your ringtone? Not so much. It’s all about context, and that’s what trips people up
