Frameline launches inaugural fall festival with five LGBTQ+ films in San Francisco.

Frameline, the queer arts nonprofit, announced its first fall festival lineup for October and November, featuring five LGBTQ+ films including “Elsinore” and “Clarissa.” The screenings will run across several San Francisco venues, from the Castro Theatre to the Roxie Theater and the San Francisco Museum. The announcement follows the city’s 50th San Francisco International LGBTQ+ Film Festival in June, a milestone that highlighted the city’s growing queer cinema scene. The fall showcase is meant to extend that momentum and bring diverse queer stories to a wider audience.

Frameline has organized the San Francisco International LGBTQ+ Film Festival since 1978, making it one of the longest‑running queer film events in the world. In 2024 the organization celebrated its 50th year, drawing more than 30,000 attendees and over 200 films. The new fall lineup comes as a response to growing demand for year‑long programming and to support filmmakers who need a platform outside the traditional festival season.
