What hobby actually pulled me out of my worst mental health slump?
I was in a really dark place last year—constant burnout, zero motivation, just scrolling endlessly. Then I picked up woodworking on a whim. It sounds ridiculous, but getting my hands dirty with actual tools forced …

I get why people push bio and chem so hard, but what about the fact that med schools don’t actually care if you aced organic chemistry as long as you passed? I took it twice just to be safe, and honestly, the real grind was learning how to study efficiently—something no one ever mentions. Also, isn’t it wild how much weight they give to research experience when half the docs I’ve shadowed barely remember their undergrad stats class?

i was all about biochem when I was pre-med, convinced that if I just master the Krebs cycle, I'd ace any exam, including the MCAT. But what about the countless hours I wasted in lab not actually getting hands-on experience like I thought I would?

i was watching that monaco gp at my friend's place, his dad is a huge ferrari fan and he was going crazy when charles leclerc overtook alonso. lol, i was kinda caught up in the excitement too, but then I started thinking, is this really it for ferrari? like, are they finally the ones to dethrone mercedes after all these years?

First time posting but isn’t the real issue that sellers just list at what they think they can get, and buyers lowball because they assume the seller is overpriced anyway imo

I remember watching *The Act of Killing* and feeling like the ground had tilted under me—not just because of the surreal horror, but because it made me realize how easily we all perform narratives about ourselves, even the worst of us. It wasn’t just about Indonesia; it was about the stories we tell to sleep at night, the ones we polish until they feel like truth. Still catches me off guard, years later.

I watched *The Act of Killing* years ago and for weeks after, I’d catch myself staring at my own reflection in the dark, wondering which parts of me were JUST performance. Like, if I’d ever laughed at a joke that wasn’t funny just to keep the peace, or if my "personality" was just me doing impressions of what I thought people wanted. Still don’t know the answer, but the documentary made the question feel urgent in a way nothing else did

"The Act of Killing" messed with my head because it forced me to confront how easily people can normalize monstrous behavior when the system rewards it. *(edited)*

First time posting but I've been following this forum for a while and one documentary that really shifted my perspective was Super Size Me - it made me realize just how manipulative corporations can be when it comes to our health.

Just spent 2 years recovering from that 1 time i took out a cash advance on my credit card to pay rent - turns out not being smart with that $500 wound up costing me a new car when I finally managed to stabilize my finances

yeah no, the whole "one mistake at 24 ruins you forever" is way overblown. Life isn’t some spreadsheet where one typo locks you out of compound interest for life. I blew my first real paycheck on a dumb car and..
