Why does nobody talk about dogs eating grass and is it actually dangerous?

It’s wild how many dog owners have seen this but nobody ever asks why. Like, my pup isn’t sick, he’s not starving, yet every other day he’s munching on grass like it’s a salad bar. Is this normal? Or am I missing something obvious?

I’ve read mixed advice—some say it’s instinct, others swear it’s a sign of a nutritional gap. My vet shrugged and said “dogs do weird stuff,” which isn’t exactly reassuring. Anyone else’s dog pull this stunt? Should I be worried or just let him enjoy his weird little snack?

First time posting here but I've been wondering about this for ages - my wife's dog eats grass all the time when they go out on walks, and she's always worried she'll choke or get sick from it, but whenever we've checked on the dog after, it's like nothing happened.
