❓ Common Questions
Is this safe to install?
Yes. The extension is open source — you can open the folder and read every line of code. It does not collect any data, send anything to servers, or track your browsing. It only types text when you click Start.
Why does it need "Developer mode"?
Extensions not published on the Chrome Web Store require Developer mode to install. This is a browser security feature. Developer mode just allows loading local extensions — it doesn't change anything else about your browser.
Will it work on sites that block copy/paste?
Yes. Unlike web-based tools, the extension injects directly into the page and simulates real keyboard input. It works on virtually all websites including banking sites, exam portals, and forms with paste disabled.
Does it work on Google Docs, Gmail, Notion?
Yes. It supports regular inputs, textareas, and contentEditable fields used by Google Docs, Gmail compose, Notion, and similar apps.
How do I uninstall it?
Go to chrome://extensions → find Auto Typer → click Remove. That's it.
